Jamie and Jeff were married at their exclusive mountain top home, a private destination in and of itself, half way up Aspen Highlands Mountain. What couldn’t be more special!
Jeff is the care takee for an on mountain restaurant and both he and Jamie knew this is where they wanted to be married. A special place that they call home and wanted to share with their friends and family. Guests were told to dress appropriately as they were taking a chair lift to the ceremony and reception site. As luck would have it, we had to make a few last minute changes due to a mechanical issue and guests were taken half way up the mountain on the Thunderbowl chair lift and then taken by Jeep into the remote venue.
The ceremony took place outside at the Merry Go Round Restaurant patio, surrounding by an open meadow and evergreens. The spot was so serene, it seemed as if the processional music was echoing off the mountains near by. Jamie walked down the aisle to “Wild Flowers” by Tom Petty which seemed to be perfectly timed with the wildflowers still present in the meadows surrounding the venue. Field Florals mimicked the Colorado wildflowers present in nature, throughout the ceremony, personal flowers and centerpieces. As Jeff has been the care taker their for many years, the Highlands Ski Patrol created directional signs that are seen on the ski trails and personally helped make sure all guests were safely transported up and down the mountain.
The reception was held inside the Merry Go Round Restaurant, with cocktails, and later dancing, in the living room, followed by dinner in the dining room. Typically, we only see this venue in the winter time filled with skiers and they smell of burgers on an outside grill, so it was amazing to see it transformed into a beautiful wedding venue. The sun shown beautifully through the large windows that looked out onto the grassy ski runs, the space rivaled any other venue in the area! After the band concluded its set, the newly married “DJ Jamie” turned on the dance music for the late night party. Stealing them away from their amazing moves on the dance floor, the photographer captured some great sneak peaks. More to come!
