Melissa & William

As the cold weather is upon us, we wanted to take the time to reflect back on one of our Winter Weddings. Winter Weddings require a bit more logistical planning. Weather, transportation and the sunset time are all elements to take into consideration, however the end result is magical. Weddings atop Aspen Mountain are truly amazing with the mountain peaks in the back ground, gorgeous blue sky and the amazing sunset views there is little you need to add to create a gorgeous memory for you and your guests. On a beautiful spring day local couple, Melissa and William, tied the knot in front of their closest family and friends. The snow topped mountains, rose hued sunset and the gorgeous starry night all made it a beautiful winter wedding.

Melissa and William wanted to treat their guests to a “Colorado life style” weekend and we thought the Rehearsal Dinner at Cloud Nine Restaurant was the perfect way to kick off their dream wedding weekend. The restaurant sits atop Aspen Highlands. Guests are transported up the mountain in an open air snow cat ride, kept warm by blankets and the thrill of the ride! Once atop, guests were greeted with hot mulled wine, tasty canapes and one of the most picturesque view of Pyramid Peak. Dinner is held in an intimate cabin with a roaring fire. A Colorado experience that is truly one of a kind.

On the wedding day, being the avid skier, William skied with his groomsmen, while the ladies had their hair and make up done by stylists at Salon Tullio. Guests uploaded the Silver Queen Gondola for a 15 minute ride to the top of Aspen Mountain, while the skiers took their final run below. The candle light Ceremony was held in front of a roaring fire in the Sundeck, while the sun began to set over the snow caped mountains. William wanted to include his Norwegian heritage by including traditional songs by the artist Sissell for the ceremony processional.

The reception took place at the Aspen Mountain Club. This private mountain top club has a wonderful, intimate setting, with high ceilings, ornate chandeliers and several fireplaces, you feel as if you are in a beautiful home. Mountain Flowers of Aspen created gorgeous centerpieces with a touch of birch to create a natural elegance that complimented the venue, candles added to the romantic feeling of the evening throughout the space.  The entire evening was filled with merriment and love, and as always, we enjoyed working with some of our favorite vendors, Chris Gentile Photography, d’Elissious Cake Studio & Kickin Aspen Entertainment.

While Aspen is popular for its summer time weather, we highly recommend considering a winter wedding. When the snow blankets the ground and sparkles of ice coat the ponds and trees you see the beauty in the smallest of details. Families come together around a fire. Children laugh with glee while playing in the snow.  Those are just a few things we love about life… and weddings!
